Roaring Pajamas’ Blog: 2017 Year in Review

By Melanie Yunk | December 31, 2018
Tomorrow is the first day of 2018! Can you believe it?
At Roaring Pajamas, we’re always so excited about a fresh new year—it’s the perfect opportunity to set goals for ourselves and for our clients. But before we do that, it’s nice to consider the year in review, too. And we had a lot of great articles to review from the blog in 2017!
In January, we outlined the important things to consider before claiming a Google My Business listing and how to proactively (and legally!) acquire more customer reviews on Google, Yelp, Facebook or for your website.
In February, we covered address lookup sites—more specifically, how to protect your personal information and how to consistently keep private information private. We also gave you the lowdown on influencer marketing, with insights regarding the legality of working with influencers, media personalities or even celebrities to promote your brand through their content.
In March, we listed the seven questions you should ask before hiring an SEO agency. We also shared findings from the Q3 2016 Sprout Social Index report and offered takeaways about what to share (and how) when using your business’ social media.
In April, we got down to Instagram business—showing you how to make the most of the capabilities the photo-sharing platform offers to businesses. Then we dove deep into the subject of website ranking, helping readers strategically consider the best placement for fresh content on their site.
In May, we shared 10 helpful tips to increase Instagram engagement and even more tips on how not to be annoying on social media. (Hint: It’s more than just oversharing personal details.)
In June, we gave you tips to help you zap writer’s block and offered eight strategies to make your LinkedIn for Business profile a valuable marketing tool.
In July, we considered one of the biggest viral marketing successes of 2017—namely, a certain Unicorn Frappuccino. After sharing the (staggering) marketing success statistics behind this frothy, sugary drink, we offered four key elements behind all social media trends.
In August, we compiled our top Instagram help articles—with insights on everything from photo credits to greater engagement to Instagram Stories and more. We also revisited the often-asked-for SEO tutorial—in fact, we revisited six of them! We curated our top six SEO tutorials, and answered the questions we are most often asked about SEO in each of them.
In September, we already had Santa on the brain! Thinking ahead to big “social media holidays” like Black Friday, Cyber Monday and pretty much every day in December, we gave you our top tips for using social media to plan promotions and increase sales over the holidays.
In October, we gave you our best writing tips (with specific actions to take!) to help you improve your blog posts—and any other copy or content. We promise, it’s not that hard!
In November, we talked about LinkedIn Search and gave you seven tips to improve your LinkedIn profile and help potential clients find you! We also shared our favorite holiday tech gifts to buy for the tech-lover in your life—or for yourself 🙂
And in December, we showed you how to use Facebook Stories to better market your business and got clear on how a domain redirect could enhance your SEO ranking. Don’t worry—we showed you how to set one up, too!
As you know, digital marketing is an ever-changing landscape—there are always new and better ways to engage your customers and market your business. We can’t wait to share even more of our favorite social media, SEO and digital marketing articles with you next year.
Until then, all of us at Roaring Pajamas wish you a happy and healthy new year!
